On Monday 16 February 2026, at the Cultural–Spiritual Centre of the Holy Metropolis of Chalkida, the 33rd Priestly Conference was held, under the presidency of His Eminence the Metropolitan of Chalkida Mr. Chrysostomos and with the presence of His Grace Bishop of Skopelos Mr. Nikodimos.

Immediately after the customary prayer, His Eminence Mr. Chrysostomos delivered an instructive speech on Great Lent, analysing the key themes presented during this penitential period and how each clergyman should internalize and transmit them to the faithful entrusted to their care. Referring to the regular celebration of the appointed services during this period, as well as those of the entire ecclesiastical year, he emphasized that in a world that persists in evil and is increasingly deformed by sin, the most important offering a priest can give is frequent prayer and the sacred call of the church bell.

Later, His Eminence Mr. Chrysostomos presented a detailed analysis, article by article, of the Circular Letter of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, entitled: “Regime for the establishment and operation of privately owned Orthodox churches within the jurisdiction of the Holy Metropolises of the Church of Greece following Law 5224/2025”.

The Conference concluded with clarifications to questions raised by the participating clergy and explanations of related pastoral and administrative matters.

Shortly before the end of the Conference, the participating clergymen expressed their gratitude to His Eminence Mr. Chrysostomos for his pastoral care and his zeal for the education, training, and formation of the clergy of our local Church, which are the purpose of their regular gatherings.
