Our Most Reverend Shepherd, the Metropolitan of Chalkida Chrysostomos, and the Most Reverend Bishop of Skopelos Nikodimos, on Pentecost Sunday, 31 May 2026, welcomed at the Holy Pilgrimage of Saint John the Russian in New Prokopi, Euboea, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Messinia Chrysostomos and the Most Reverend Bishop of Skiathos Ioannis.

The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Messinia Chrysostomos presided at Matins, led the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, and preached the holy sermon, presenting the Mystery and reality of the Church and placing it as a heavenly action within contemporary reality, showing the strong experience of this event through the life of Saint John the Russian, in whose honor we have gathered today as pilgrims from all parts of the world to express our devotion, present our requests, and receive his grace.

The Most Reverend Metropolitan of Chalkida Chrysostomos thanked the holy hierarchs for their presence, expressed his love for all devout pilgrims who arrive in hundreds during this period to Saint John, either on foot or by vehicle, and expressed his gratitude to ERT, which today, a few days after the feast of Saint John, broadcast live all the sacred services from the Pilgrimage Holy Church of the Saint.

After the dismissal, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Messinia Chrysostomos presided at the Vespers of the Holy Spirit, during which the Kneeling Prayers were read by the holy hierarchs.
